Hunter is a creator and performer making work about whiteness, ‘America’, foundational stories, hunger, and immersion.

Hunter is currently half of the duo Prostalgia HD with Delilah Friedler; a collective member at WOW Café Theater; co-founder and collaborator with Shrets and Those Fuckbois. They were a member of EmergeNYC in 2023.

Hunter holds a BA in Comparative Literature with Honors in the Arts for Theatre and Performance from Stanford University (2015), and an MA with Distinction in Theatre and Performance Studies from Queen Mary University of London (2016). At QMUL, they were awarded both the Principal’s Prize and the Marjorie Thompson Prize for outstanding academic achievement. They worked with Professor Jen Harvie as their supervisor on their award winning dissertation, titled “The Fourth Place: Immersive Performance in the Age of the Internet, Self-Conscious Fatigue, and Spatial Collapse”.

Their collaborative writing with Lois Weaver has been published in The Big Anxiety: Taking Care of Mental Health in Crisis, edited by Jill Bennett, and Artistes-Chercheur·es, Chercheur·es-Artistes, Performer Les Knowledge, edited by Marion Boudier and Chloé Déchery.

They currently work as a carpenter for theatre, Previously they worked as a Production Assistant at Simon Liu Inc., building fine art supports. From 2017-2022, they worked as producer and writer with Lois Weaver and Peggy Shaw of Split Britches.
